DJI Mavic Drone Camera Protection - Hoodman Launchpad Review

The camera on the new DJI Mavic Pro sits really low to the ground. Since the day I started using it one of my concerns has been the chance of dirt and debris damaging the camera or the Mavic itself.

The camera one the Mavic doesn't appear to have any user serviceable parts (besides propellers) and if you were to scratch or crack the front element or damage the underside of the Mavic Pro you are likely going to be sending it back to DJI for repair losing time and money in the process.

I started using the Hoodman Launch Pad (3ft diameter) shortly after getting the Mavic and now use it every time I fly either my Phantom's or the Mavic Pro. It provides a weighted launch pad that is high contrast, stays in place and protects your drone from moisture, debris, etc. Here are the specs from their page:

Launch Pad carry bag serves as a notice to pedestrians of a drone flying in the area. (just place empty bag handles over a tripod.
Rustproof components clean up with a wet towel.
